KazAID seminar brings together journalists and press secretaries to discuss development cooperation
On May 14, 2025, in Astana, a seminar titled “International Journalism: Official Development Assistance” was held, organized by the Kazakhstan Agency of International Development (KazAID) in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event took place at the “Qazmedia” and included two modules: one for press secretaries and one for journalists. The first focused on government-media interaction, while the second explored the development of journalism in the field of international relations and the coverage of Kazakhstan’s ODA efforts in the media.
KazAID Chairman of the Board Arken Arystanov opened the seminar with welcoming remarks, emphasizing the importance of covering development cooperation and the role of media in promoting Kazakhstan’s positive image abroad.
Speakers included Karlygash Akhmetova, Director of the Department of Partnerships and Regional Projects at KazAID; Gauhar Beiseeva, a diplomat with over 20 years of experience; Ainur Baigozha, founder of PR room and PR consultant; and Aigerim Akbergenova, media manager and communications consultant.
Participants included representatives of central and regional government bodies, media outlets, and universities — press secretaries, editors, producers, and experts. Attendees also came from local administrations, public institutions, and the media industry.
At the end of the seminar, all participants received certificates.
