KazAID and JICA Alumni Association strengthen cooperation
5 March 2025, Astana - the annual general meeting of the JICA Alumni Association in Kazakhstan was held.
One of the key speakers of the event was Arken Arystanov, Chairman of the Board of KazAID, a graduate of the JICA programme, who was trained in Japan as a student. In his speech he highlighted the importance of international co-operation and knowledge sharing, emphasising the contribution of JICA graduates to the development of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was also addressed by His Excellency Mr Yasumasa Iijima, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kazakhstan, Kentaro Nishiyama, Deputy Permanent Representative of JICA in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Nurlan Sarsenbai, President of JICA Alumni Association in Kazakhstan, and others. The speakers discussed the role of JICA alumni in the development of the country, prospects for co-operation and international initiatives.
In 2024, KazAID and the JICA Alumni Association signed a memorandum of cooperation, which opens new opportunities for joint projects.
