Meeting in France between KazAID and the OECD
On 18 February 2025, in Boulogne-Billancourt (France), the Chairman of the Kazakhstan Agency of International Development (KazAID), Arken Arystanov, and the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to UNESCO and other international organizations in Paris, Askar Abdrakhmanov, met with Haye Schütte, Deputy Director of the OECD Development Co-operation Directorate, and Rolf Schwarz, Head of the Global Engagement Division of the OECD Development Co-operation Directorate.
Within the framework of the Agreement signed in 2023 between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on the implementation of the project ‘OECD and KazAID Roadmap for the Development of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) System in Kazakhstan’, the parties discussed the next steps for implementing the Roadmap and further developing Kazakhstan’s ODA system.
The meeting also included discussions on Kazakhstan’s profile within the OECD Development Co-operation Report and its reporting mechanisms. The OECD representatives provided an overview of existing reporting practices and emphasized the importance of data in shaping Kazakhstan’s international development strategies.
Additionally, KazAID participated in the presentation by the OECD Development Statistics Working Group, which covered workflow processes, data collection standards, and methodological approaches to analyzing international development statistics.
The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening KazAID’s collaboration with the OECD in the field of international development and further aligning Kazakhstan’s policies with the organisation’s best practices and advanced standards.
