Custody service available on eGov.kz portal and eGov Mobile app
The service is now available on the eGov.kz portal and the eGov Mobile application for establishing custody and guardianship over incapacitated or partially incapacitated adults. The innovation greatly simplifies the application process, eliminating paperwork and minimizing the risk of providing false information. The service is free-of-charge for individuals and legal entities.
An adult is recognized as incapacitated or partially incapacitated by a court decision. A potential guardian or trustee can apply for custody or guardianship based on this decision.
To use the service on the eGov.kz portal, the user needs to:
- sign in to the eGov.kz portal and go to the «For Citizenry» - «Family» - «Legal guardianship, support» section;
- select the service «Establishment of guardianship or custodianship over incapacitated or partially incapacitated adults» and click «Request Online»;
- specify IIN of the ward for whom an application is being submitted;
- specify the phone number and e-mail of an applicant and click «Next»;
- select the property where the ward will be living with an applicant;
- add registered or cohabiting persons at the specified address;
- sign an application using one of the available signing methods;
- service delivery result will be available in the personal account – «History of Services Received»
To use the service in the eGov mobile application, the user needs to:
- log in to the eGov Mobile app and go to the «Services» section – «Benefits, allowances, pensions»;
- select the service «Establishment of guardianship or custodianship over incapacitated or partially incapacitated adults» and fill-in the required fields;
- add the address of the place of residence and indicate the cohabitants (optional field);
- sign an application using Face ID/Touch ID.
Once the application has been submitted, a relevant order or reasoned refusal will be sent to the applicant's personal account. Service delivery term is 19 working days.
It should also be noted that the application may be submitted in person at the place of residence of the person in need of care or guardianship, accompanied by the necessary documents.
The new service was implemented thanks to the cooperation of the Public Services Committee of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Information Technologies JSC and the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
