Gas meter readings can now be submitted online via eGov Mobile
A new service, QazaqGaz Aimaq, has been launched in the eGov Mobile app, allowing users to independently submit gas meter readings online. The service eliminates the need to wait for a controller’s visit or fill-in paper forms. In addition, artificial intelligence helps verify the accuracy of the submitted readings.
Previously, gas meter readings could be submitted online only through the QazaqGaz Aimaq app. This feature is now also available in eGov Mobile, without the need to install any additional applications. The new service helps save time and ensures more accurate gas billing based on actual consumption.
A key feature of the service is the automatic verification of readings using artificial intelligence. The system compares a photo of the meter with the data entered by the user and detects possible discrepancies before submission. This helps prevent typos and manual input errors, protecting users from incorrect charges and reducing the need for additional checks by a controller.
To get the service, the user needs to:
- sign in to the eGov mobile app;
- go to the "Services" section and select "QazaqGaz Aimaq";
- give consent to data sharing and check the displayed user information;
- enter the personal account number, after which the system will show the list of meters linked to the account;
- enter the current readings for the required meter;
- attach a photo of each meter, which the artificial intelligence will compare with the entered readings;
- click "Submit readings".
The service can also be accessed via a thematic banner on the app’s homepage.
Readings are accepted from the 25th to the 5th day of each month. Online submission reduces the likelihood of errors during manual entry, makes gas consumption records more accurate, and ensures the secure transfer of data through the government digital platform.
The service was launched thanks to the cooperation of the Public Services Committee under the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Information Technologies JSC, Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and QazaqGaz Aimaq JSC.
